UGH...Just Stop Already!!

Ok, so I have been very excited about all of the buffalo chicken sandwiches that fast food restaurants have been coming out with!! However, they all suck!! How hard is it to make a good buffalo sandwich!?!? The answer...not hard, so what's the deal!?!

I recently tried the Arby's buffalo chicken sandwich, and it was less than exciting! However, it was better than Wendy's. So good work Arby's!

The sauce and shredded lettuce was just tossed on top!! The shredded lettuce was gross so I scraped that off. Their bun was ok, but still not crispy. I shouldn't complain too much because it was just a $1. Their sauce was very good though! Their just wasn't enough on it! I advise them to take off the lettuce and really dip that chicken in some buffalo!! For the buffalo record, I enjoyed their buffalo chicken shaker when they had it! BRING THAT BACK!!

So...in order to cure myself of the terrible buffalo sandwiches I've been having, I am going to Bourbon Street tonight with some faithful followers so they can experience what a GOOD buffalo chicken sandwich is!!

I hope you take away this very important message from this post: spare yourself the agony and stick to good 'ol fashioned cheeseburgers at fast food joints!

Wendy's Buffalo Dipped Sandwich...Meh...

Oh Wendy's!! When I saw your poster I bought your buffalo sandwich immediately!! It looks quite delicious in the poster, eh!?!?

The buffalo sauce itself was fantastic!! It really does have a nice kick to it!! However, the sandwich itself did not! I would have done a few things differently for sure! 1) No blue cheese on it! The blue cheese was tasteless and too thick. It was just weird, I thought it was mayo at first. 2) Soggy bun! If you are true follower to my blog you know the number 1 rule to have a good buffalo sandwich is CRISPY bun! 3) The toppings I feel took away from the buffalo, but some people like that and that's ok. I enjoy my sandwich with just the chicken and the bread!

Go to your Wendy's for lunch tomorrow and let me know your thoughts! If you don't want the buffalo then I recommend getting the spicy chicken caesar salad! It is wonderful and uber spicy! The lemon garlic caesar dressing really meshes well with the spicy chicken. Wendy's reached perfection with that, but may need to revamp the buffalo sandwich to get this blogger to try it!

Craving Some Buffalo!?!?!

Usually late afternoon is when the craving for some buffalo sauce hits me!! Unfortunately, as I'm sure is the case for everyone, we don't have buffalo chicken wings at our disposal! (sad, but true) Well...I have some good news for you!! The solution has been found!

'I'd like to give a shout out and say thank you to Jean P. for this great find!'

The answer is...Snyder's Hot Buffalo Wing Pretzel Pieces! They taste just like a buffalo wing! I'm not kidding! Each pretzel bite has a lot of seasoning and taste spot on. It was a little odd at first how perfect it is! They aren't uber spicy, but has great flavor and cures that craving!! You must check it out!!

Buffalo 101

Whew...this weekend was quite the buffaloiest weekend ever!! On Saturday night I went to the Elbow Room and had their chicken wings! They were delicious!! They had a spicky kick to them and were finger lickin good! I think it's a VERY good sign when you eat wings and your mouth is on fire!! I had to rub ice on my lips! That means a job well done!

'Elbow Room Wings'

This made me think about what my new buffalo sidekick "Wingette" had said and decided it needed to happen!! Wingette and I chose to create our very own buffalo sauce!! The madness thus ensued!

We started out thinking this would be a very easy task, but once we started we realized that making buffalo sauce isn't as simple as throwing a few spicy ingredients together! I'll take you through the steps so you can perhaps try to make your very own buffalo sauce!!

STEP 1 - Wash Chicken Wings under luke warm water

'I personally enjoy the baby bottle in the background of this picture'

STEP 2 - Sprinkle Lemon Pepper on Wings

STEP 3 - Fry Chicken Wings in Vegetable Oil for 20 minutes or until 180 degrees in the middle

STEP 4 - Take Wings out of the fryer and set on paper towel until ready to douse in buffalo sauce

STEP 5 - Choose your Ingredients

We had quite an array of different ingredients!! It was hard to choose what would go well together. We started throwing them together and if I may say, I think we made buffalo history!

STEP 6 - Create your buffalo sauce

Our first attempt had brown sugar in it. This created a rather sweet taste. So we added some cayenne pepper, paprika and garlic to give it a kick. We tasted it and it was still sweet, but a few seconds later we took back what we had said!

Our first creation was complete! It's name...SWEET HEAT. It has a sweet taste when you first bite into it and then a burst of spicy heat! Job well done!!

Wingette and I decide that our second batch needs to be hotter...MUCH hotter. We made it with no brown sugar as to get NO sweet taste. We put in LOTS more hot sauce and the heat began to burn through our nostrils. We've created somewhat of a monster. We put in a few more ingredients to bring the spice level down, but not too much. We decide it's perfect, thus our sauce FIRE IN THE HOLE is born!

The name is no lie. Fire In The Hole gives a good kick and the blue cheese is for sure a necessity!!

STEP 7 - ENJOY!!

We will continue to try different sauces, but this is just not as simple as it may seem! We're missing something and we have yet to discover what that is. The mystery shall continue!!

After trying these new flavors it remains tried and true. Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Sauce is simply the best! I'm not sure how they do it or if I want to know how they do it! Perhaps one day I can create something close, but until then I'll keep enjoying theres!

I'd like to send out a special thanks to Wingette for all her hard work and dedication to this blog! Our next venture will be our own buffalo chicken dip recipe!! Check back soon!!

Signing off,

You Gotta Eat...

Who would have thunk it?? Rally's blew my mind!! Aside from having to wait a while to get my wings, it was quite worth it.

Rally's Medium Buffalo Wings

The wings alone were juicy and very good! The sauce had the perfect amount of kick and there was extra at the bottom so you know I used that to make them extra saucy! They have quite a few flavors to choose from: medium buffalo, honey bbq, asian kick, angry buffalo and garlic parmesan! You know I had to get the medium buffalo. I may try the asian kick one day. That sounds interesting! I would strongly encourage you to try them! Maybe when it warms up you can eat them outside. According to one of my followers Rally's slogan should be, "Rally's...you gotta eat outside!"

So get yourself some wings and let me know what ya think!!

The Flaming Hot War...Which is Better!?!?!

If you know me then you know my absolute obsession with Flaming Hot Cheetos!! They are the greatest thing since...well...shall we say buffalo sauce? I love the crunchiness and pure fire of them. At first you don't feel the burn, but once you eat a few it starts to kick in and it's wonderful. You can't eat them all the time though because you get used to them and they don't burn as much. Where's the fun in that? I learned my lesson in high school when I had a bag every day for lunch. Yeah that's right, EVERY DAY! Here's a picture just in case you've never seen them! They have the perfect crunch!

Last night, I was given the chance to try something very different. Chester's Flaming Hot Fries.* I was nervous at first because they look so different and I didn't think they would really be as hot. They are much more soft than cheetos. They practically melt in your mouth which I wasn't too sure about at first. I didn't feel any burn until my fourth or fifth one and WOW, it hit me! Unless you're my nephew and you had one bite and threw a fit, you can handle the burn! He was concerned for my mouth while I kept eating them and watched on with horror. It was precious! Anyway, I think the melting in your mouth aspect made the hotness jump out at you a little more than the crunchy ones. I began to become confused with which is better!!

After a long and grueling war in my head I have decided the winner.
(Drum Roll Please)

Flaming Hot Cheetos WINS!! Because of their crunchiness and burn with each and every bite they have been chosen the champs. In order to get an intense burn with Chester Fries you have to have a lot. I'm not alloted enough calories in my day to keep up with all of that.

Before I go, lets clear up one fact about both. They both burn the next day just the same! :)

*Thanks Brett T. for making that purchase for me!

STOP...In The Name Of Wings!!

I went to Wing Stop for the second time in a week to report that it truly is blog worthy!! Not only were the wings blog worthy, but I almost thought about starting a blog for french fries! There french fries were the absolutely delicious!!

I wish I was eating this again right now! :(

I got the 5 piece boneless wing combo in mild. They have 9 different flavors for their wings. I know that everyone isn't a buffalo fan!! (That must be a sad sad life for you) Next time I think I'll go a little more spicy. The mild had lots of flavor, but no kick!! I like to sweat when I eat!! I suppose I'll try the original hot. Atomic might kill me. Although eating wings may not be a bad way to go! Their flavors are:

1) Atomic
2) Original Hot
3) Mild
4) Garlic Parmesan
5) Cajun
6) Lemon Pepper
7) Hawaiian
8) Teriyaki
9) Hickory Smoked BBQ

I bet the Cajun wings are good too!! Ooh, I may have to get a small buffet for myself one day soon! They all sound so good!
